The world news report on Syria: the action of government being condemned by international authorities

As Syrian forces attacked government protesters on Monday, as many 35 civilians had been killed in Deraa since Monday. The protesters has criticized the presidency lead by the President Bashar al-Assad who has ruled for 11 years.


To face the protesters, President Bashar has sent at least 10 tanks, around 2000 security police, several trucks equipped with heavy machine guns and bus loads of soldiers in full combat gear to crush the revolt.


According to witnesses, the army was firing randomly, cut off roads, shelling homes, storming houses, rounding people up and arresting them.


These action by the Syrian government has drawn international criticism. The European Union is discussing possible sanctions against Syria and urged Syria to end the violence. The White House is also considering sanctions on senior officials that could include a freeze of assets. The criticism has come also from Silvio Berlusconi the Italian Prime Minister and President Nicolas Sarkozy of French.

Sawasiah, one of the Syrian rights organization reported that as many as 500 personnel from pro democracy sympathizers from all around Syria were captured by security forces. The government of Syria has sent tanks to the city of Deraa to give control over protesters and to crush their fights over the government.

This Monday Deraa has been entered by Syrian troops all together with their tanks. The action was to find and destroy the opposition power in the city. The opposition power has risen for one month long against the President Bashar al-Assad which has ruled for 11 years.

Japan devastating earthquake has brought its effect to the economy in U.S. as the price in the auto industry and the price of fuel significantly rose. According to Lucia Mutikani from Reuters, the price of light trucks has increased for 0.7 percent. And this is the biggest increasing number since July. On the other hand, the passenger cars has also increased for at least 0.9 percent. As a whole it is reported that since the last 12 months ending up in March, the core producer price index has increased for 1.9 percent. While prices are climbing up as the effect of Japan earthquake, the claims for unemployment benefits has also risen.
